A professional kitchen is expensive to build and hard to access for small food producers. At Quinta do Coito Grande, a fully equipped kitchen is shared by people who cook for the community.
Seasonal ingredients from local growers are turned into ready meals, savoury pies and pastries, jams, preserves and infused oils. Cooking with what each season offers, and giving value to every ingredient, keeps waste low and food close to its origin.
The kitchen also prepares meals for gatherings and events.
Sharing infrastructure lowers the barrier for anyone who wants to make a living from good food. It is one of the clearest examples of how Casa dos Sonhos turns an unused building into a working space for the local economy.
