Quinta do Coito Grande

What kind of services does our area need? Reviving regional life and encouraging local development are in the heart of the most urban of our branches. Located in the outskirts of the small village of Colos, Quinta do Coito Grande is the meeting point of Casa dos Sonhos with the local community. A wide range of services and activities are offered in this colourful center that brings together people of all walks of life who live in the area or are just passing by.

Casa dos Sonhos was born from a simple observation: there is a lot of potential lost in the world. Displaced people, abandoned places, wasted materials, scattered knowledge. At Quinta do Coito Grande, empty agricultural buildings have become workshops, kitchens and storerooms. They are made available to people whose work gives something back: to the land, to the local economy and to the community. Each space is run autonomously by those who work in it, within a shared frame of consensual exchange, relentless learning and care.

Today the buildings of Quinta do Coito Grande host a food hub and café, a shared professional kitchen, a food warehouse, a solar energy workshop, a forge, a carpentry, a sawmill, a tiny house workshop and natural building work, alongside the wellness center and homes for the people who live and work here.
